No plans to do TV in India anytime soon: Nimrat Kaur

Actress Nimrat Kaur, known for her stints in the international TV space, says she has no plans to venture on to the small screen in India anytime soon, and wants to focus on her film career. Nimrat, who is seen in Manoj Night Shyamalan's TV series "Wayward Pines", also feels TV work in the West has a lot more scope.
"I have no plans to do television in India anytime soon. I am looking at only film work in India because TV work in the West has a lot more scope to get into an interesting phase here," Nimrat told IANS in an email interview.

Renuka Shahane's Facebook post on Salman Khan's acquittal in the blackbuck case obviously didn't go down well with Salman's fans and the actress has been facing trolls ever since. Shahane, who played Salman's bhabhi in Hum Aapke Hain Koun, has now clarified that she is not against Salman, and was just raising questions about the judicial system. She tells us, "I know Salman's fans are really hurt and I am being tagged as anti-Salman, but people are reacting without even reading the complete post or understanding what I am trying to say. I am not against Salman and neither is that post. I have always shared a very cordial relationship with him."

She adds, "The questions in my post have been in my mind for long. It is about our judicial system. Cases itne lambe chalte hi kyon hain? Why isn't there a time frame within which cases should end? This case could have gone on for 25 years and for so many years, everyone involved has a mental pressure."

Mahesh Bhatt to turn his movie 'Zakhm' into TV series

Looks like, director Mahesh Bhatt is takign a deeper plunge into the world of TV.
A Deccan Chronicle report said that Bhatt will make a TV series, partially based on his famous 1999 directorial 'Zakhm', which will replace 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' in September.
According to an industry insider, "Mahesh Bhatt is all set to start his television innings with a brand new fiction show. The show is partially based on his famous 1999 directorial Zakhm, which starred actor Ajay Devgn and Bhatt's daughter Pooja in the lead roles. The show will be aired on Star Plus and will replace the channel's most popular ongoing show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' in September this year."

When Amitabh Bachchan gave four superhits in a month!

There is no doubt that megastar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan , at 74, is one of the top three names on the wishlist of all filmmakers. And why not... there was a time when the superstar delivered as many as four superhits in one month. Yes, you read that right! While today’s actors celebrate short-term successes, Big B delivered four commercial successes in a row in October 1978. In one of his recent interviews, Bachchan revealed how the audience doesn’t mind watching four films of the same actor in the same month as long as the film delivers good content and entertainment. The films that released back-to-back and went on to become superhits were ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikander,’ ‘Kasme Vaade,’ ‘Don’ and ‘Trishul.’ Interestingly, two of these four films – ‘Kasme Vaade’ and ‘Don’ – saw Amitabh in a double role. Another intriguing fact is that barring ‘Don,’ three other films saw Rakhee as the female lead opposite Bachchan. What’s commendable is that all four films were directed by four different filmmakers, had drastically different stories and saw Bachchan essaying diametrically opposite characters.

'Dishoom' stars to perform a live daredevil stunt

The John Abraham and Varun Dhawan-starrer 'Dishoom' has already prompted cine-goers to sit up and take notice of the buddy cop film, thanks to its high-octane action scenes and foot-tapping songs. Now, the actors are all set to give their fans an adrenaline rush.

In a one-of-its-kind event, they will recreate this action adventure flick's most expensive chase sequence live on a helicopter.

While promoting the Rohit Dhawan directorial in New Delhi, John and Varun will travel from the Capital's airport to Noida on the chopper just like they do in the film. They will land and make a heroic entry at a cricket ground in Noida.

You've often said in the past that kids should not be a part of music reality shows as it can affect them adversely. Ironically now, you are judging a kids' music reality show...

It is true that I had taken that stand on kids participating in music reality shows. But over a period of time, I realised that children continue to be a part of these shows. So, when I was offered to judge 'The Voice India Kids', I agreed. They convinced me saying that they would rather have a judge who is sensitive to the fact that kids should not be exploited on reality shows. They felt that I would understand the situation and not put undue pressure on the them. I don't believe in pushing children to do melodramatic acts where they are pushed to cry for ratings, tell sob stories of their sad background and how their parents' lives are dependenton their singing career.

The idea is to mentor rather than put pressure on them.
