You've often said in the past that kids should not be a part of music reality shows as it can affect them adversely. Ironically now, you are judging a kids' music reality show...

It is true that I had taken that stand on kids participating in music reality shows. But over a period of time, I realised that children continue to be a part of these shows. So, when I was offered to judge 'The Voice India Kids', I agreed. They convinced me saying that they would rather have a judge who is sensitive to the fact that kids should not be exploited on reality shows. They felt that I would understand the situation and not put undue pressure on the them. I don't believe in pushing children to do melodramatic acts where they are pushed to cry for ratings, tell sob stories of their sad background and how their parents' lives are dependenton their singing career.

The idea is to mentor rather than put pressure on them.
